Architecture Tour

Today, after a long morning class on negotiation, we took a tour of the Sydney Opera House!  Designed by a very astute, research-minded Danish architect who won a contest after having little-to-know experience actually designing buildings, a team of the best and brightest engineers, plywood specialists, and acoustic experts joined together to make the massive cloud-like dream a reality.  The architect ended up spending a lot of time and money though, which pissed off the Australian government during the Vietnam War, and he was eventually exiled from both Australia and his native land before the famous ceramic structure was even halfway finished.  Hopefully the group will get to go see a show there! Even more hopefully, it won't cost SOOOO much money like everything else here (did I mention that I spent $7 on TP?)

We have a big exam tomorrow so most of our free time is spent studying (today and yesterday).  We have been grabbing food in Chinatown because it's nearby and significantly cheaper, but can I just say after three meals a day the past couple of days, I am TIRED of Chinese food already??? (gasp, blasphemy).  So today I got a burger...from a Chinese restaurant. Oh well, what can you do?

Below are some pics from the day:
